The Crickets series is a collaboration between humans and crickets. The insects carry out much of the work, leaving the artist with the task of defining the spatial boundaries and recognising the work as complete. The primal instinct that drives the process makes each mark spontaneous and unpredictable, revealing the uniqueness of an aesthetic that becomes part of nature itself. At the end of the process, the crickets are released and returned to their natural environment.

The research involves a variety of edible materials, including pure gold leaf, and explores the idea that true value lies in the unrepeatable uniqueness of each moment. A work that invites reflection on human primacy in art and encourages moving beyond prejudice and aversion, even between different species.
